- Locate 1Password in /Applications
- Right click...Show Package Contents
- Traverse and open Contents/Resources/SupportedBrowsers.plist
- Set Safari.MaxBundleVersion to 6532
- Restart Safari, you should have your 1Password button back

Thanks for posting the instructions.
I just wanted to mention that if you download the latest version of 1Password 2 it will do the same thing for you.
And do not forget to change Safari run in 32-bit mode.
